One day I will be able to just fix something and be done instead of trying to fix something and discovering more things to fix. At the bottom of this patch area was 1” of lead some screws and a whole crap load of rust and waviness throughout the whole thing.
After this the patch below the door corner I will finally be able to get the floor brace I built in and then the inner rocker on and then the outer and then the floor.

I remember those days!
So naive.
It’s worth it in the long run. I think?

Yeah. It’s harder to express certain things. It may be me as well.

I think he was referring to the “able to fix something without finding other things to fix” part. That pretty much never happens, no matter how long you work at it. Unless you find a perfect, concours car.

That looks great so far. You are a brave and patient man to install such a large patch on such a flat panel, that is way beyond the skills of most. Keep up the good work and I’m sure it will be worth it in the end.

Those are some neat looking clamps in the second-last picture. I can’t say I’ve seen something like that before. (Then again, I’ve never done any body work before either...)

they work really well for butt welding but it can be kind of a pain getting the back part in. Also only work with access to backside.
